Getting the Most Out of Your Reading: How to Prepare for a Reading

Booking a tarot reading is an act of self-care. It’s a moment to pause and gain clarity amid the chaos of everyday life. To make the most of your session, a little preparation beforehand can make all the difference.

Here are my tips for arriving at our session in the best possible frame of mind:

1. Ask open-ended questions

The clarity of the answer often depends on the precision of the question. In tarot reading, avoid closed-ended questions that call for only a "yes" or "no" answer.
Instead, ask questions that begin with "How, " "What, " or "Why."

  • Instead of: “Will I find love this year?”

  • Try asking: “What can I do to open myself up to a new relationship?” or “What energies are currently influencing my love life?”

2. Create a space of inner calm

There’s no need to rush over between appointments. For the best experience, try to set aside 5 to 10 minutes of quiet time before our meeting.

  • Meditate or breathe: a calm state of mind helps you receive messages more clearly.

  • Ground yourself: picture yourself fully present in the moment, ready to listen to what the cards have to say.

3. Identify your intentions

Why are you coming in for a session today? Is it because you’re facing a professional roadblock, seeking personal growth, or simply out of spiritual curiosity?
Identifying your main intention helps focus the energy of the session. Jot down two or three key points in a notebook so you don’t forget anything during our conversation.

4. Bring something to write with

The Tarot sometimes provides a wealth of information and symbols. To make sure you don’t miss anything during your readings, keep a notebook handy.
Rereading your notes a few days or weeks later often leads to moments of insight that you didn’t have at the time.
However, the session will be fully recorded via Zoom; you will therefore receive a transcript of our conversation so that you can review and listen to our entire discussion.

5. Keep an open mind (and stay calm)

Remember that the Tarot is a tool for guidance and reflection, not an unchangeable verdict. The cards highlight possibilities and paths. Maintain a curious mindset: even a card that seems "difficult" at first glance often holds valuable advice for personal growth.

Important note: If you are facing a medical or legal emergency, the Tarot should never replace the advice of a qualified professional (doctor, lawyer, etc.).

🛠️ What Tarot Doesn't Do: My Ethical Boundaries ("Taboo" Questions)

To ensure that our session is conducted with transparency and respect, it is important to note that certain questions fall outside the scope of a tarot reader’s expertise. My practice is intended to be a supportive tool, not a substitute for professional expertise.

Here are the topics I do not cover during consultations:

  • Health and Medical Diagnoses: The Tarot can offer insights into your energy or emotional state, but it should never replace the advice of a doctor. I do not predict illnesses, recoveries, or treatment outcomes.

  • Complex legal issues: For anything related to lawsuits, contracts, or major financial disputes, consult a lawyer or a qualified expert.

  • Intruding on other people's lives: "What does my ex think of his new girlfriend?" The Tarot is a tool for self-discovery. I focus on your journey,

your feelings and actions. Spying on someone else’s private life without their consent adds little value to your own personal growth.

  • Death and Tragic Events: My approach to tarot reading focuses on life and opportunities. Predicting deaths or disasters goes against my ethical principles of kindness and free will.

By adhering to these boundaries, we ensure that the session remains a healthy, constructive, and safe space for you.
